The Vikings can’t count on Bridgewater being ready for Week 1

It’s eaten at him over the past year, of course. Curry was not entirely healthy last season, but he did not use that as an excuse. He had a critical turnover with just over five minutes to play in Game 7, and Curry concedes that it still bothers him. In part, as much as this year’s finals for the Warriors have been about the excellence of newcomer Kevin Durant, it’s also been a shot at redemption for Curry.

Here in Game 2, the Curry absolution tour truly took hold: He logged a triple-double, persistently attacking the Cleveland defense (even James) on his way to 32 points, to go with 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He was far from perfect — Curry committed eight turnovers and was 7 of 17 from the field — but he provided the ideal counter punch to another sterling performance by Durant, who finished with 33 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.

“I’m playing with a lot of energy, that’s the biggest thing,” Curry said. “Trying to be aggressive every opportunity I have. I think there’s another level that I can get to … But just trying to be aggressive and enjoy this moment, man, just playing in The Finals and the journey is unbelievable. I want to keep it going.”

Zimmer noted that Bridgewater “has a long way to go” and will not be able to join his team on the practice field until he gets the OK to take that next step from his doctors.

The Vikings can’t count on Bridgewater being ready for Week 1, so they’re still committed to Bradford, at least for the short term. Bradford’s contract also expires after the season.
